Skales‘ debut album has been on the highly anticipated list for quite a while now. Ever since audiences got a taste of the rapper-singer on “Heading for a Grammy”, followed by his strong showing on the EME compilation album last year, fans have been yearning for an album from Skales.
The situation might be more puzzling if one considers the fact that Skales and Wizkid were signed at around the same time, and the latter is already putting finishing touches to his sophomore album.
On a recent visit to Hip Hop World Studios, the Kaduna-born musician spoke about the delay in putting out the music project. According to Skales, “The album issue is not my fault. I even brought my laptop, because I felt like showing people, this is my album. More than 200 songs, its just for us to pick which ones to drop. But you know how most Nigerian labels are, they do turn by turn. So for two years, I’ve been waiting for Wiz’ project to be done before I could drop my first single while signed to EME.”
Skales also revealed the title of the album which he promised would be out this year as he is next in line after Wizkid. “I’m working on the album and it should be out this year by God’s grace. I even have a title for it. It’s called ‘All the Above’. I’ve dropped two singles and I’m getting ready to shoot the videos. So I’ve been waiting for the first artiste to finish, that’s Wiz. And I’m next right now.
The two-time Headies winner in an interview with Hip Hop World made it clear that her career doesn’t contradict her role as a mother to her daughter who is currently in secondary school.
According to her, “I’m a mother and everything that has to do with a child and have basic things that they need is what matters to me. Right now, I’ve been travelling every weekend so what I do is that when I’m leaving on Friday , I take her to Grandma and when I’m back on Monday she’s back in the house with me. We are friends and we do a lot of things together. I take her to band rehearsals and all that and the reason is that I really need to spend more time with my daughter.”

Never too busy for friends! Beyonce and Jay Z took time out of their busy touring schedules to make a very important stop at Kris Jenner's home in Calabasas, Calif. on Sunday, July 28, to pay a visit to Kim Kardashian and baby North West, a source confirms to Us.

As footballers across the world took to Twitter to voice their grief at news of his death, the Ecuadorian Football Federation revealed he was rushed to hospital yesterday with 'severe stomach pain' before he died from a heart attack.
The 19-year-old played in Toronto, Canada on July 26, with his next dates taking place in the US cities of Detroit, Michigan and Newark, New Jersey.
According to TMZ, a "bus associated with Justin Bieber's tour was stopped" at Ambassador Bridge, which connects Windsor, Canada to Detroit. After a drug-sniffing hound detected narcotics on board, the vehicle was searched and authorities discovered marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Bieber wasn't on the bus at the time and has not been charged with any crime in association with this drug discovery. The bus driver was issued a citation and the rest of the passengers were released without incident.
This isn't the first time Bieber's tour vehicle has been suspected of housing drugs in 2013. Swedish police reportedly searched Bieber's bus in Stockholm in April on suspicion that there was marijuana on board. Officers allegedly uncovered a "small amount" of the illegal drug in the vehicle, along with a stun gun - which requires a permit.
Bieber's Believe tour has been plagued by other bizarre events.
The singer's May 13 concert in Johannesburg, South Africa was raided by thieves.
After performing at the Soccer City stadium, a gang of marauders broke into a strongroom, according to BBC News.
The thieves were reportedly armed with ropes, hammers and chisels and made off with more than one million rand ($A111,000).
The cash included stadium earnings from Bieber's concert as well as from a previous show by Bon Jovi.
It's a done deal people. From November 2013, Nigeria will be among the six listed Commonwealth 'high risk' countries whose citizens will be required to pay £3,000 tourists visa bond before they are allowed into the UK. The remaining five are: India, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
But here's what the UK government are saying to pacify citizens of these countries who are outraged by this new policy. They say it's not all visitors that will be required to pay the bond, just people they consider 'highest risk'; that is people who will collect visa and refuse to leave Britain or overstay their visa terms. Those paying bonds will receive the bond back, if they abided by the terms of their visa.
According to the UK Financial Times report last Friday, the UK Home Office say there's no going back as the scheme is their most effective way of tackling abuse in their immigration system. Nigeria and the other five countries account for more than five hundred thousand visa applications in 2012.

The 50-year-old actor set fans abuzz when he hinted in an interview Monday that the time may be right to eventually retire from acting.
While chatting with the BBC to promote the U.K. release of The Lone Ranger, Depp hinted that there are "quieter" things he would eventually like to do other than making movies.
"I wouldn't say that I'm dropping out any second," Depp clarified, "but I would say it's probably not too far away."
The actor also noted a strange irony when it comes to his chosen profession.
"At a certain point, you start thinking, and when you add up the amount of dialogue that you say per year, for example, and you realize that you've said written words more than you've actually had a chance to say your own words, you start thinking of that as a kind of insane option for a human being," he explained.
"So, are there quieter things that I wouldn't mind doing, you know? Yeah, I wouldn't mind that," he offered.
It's not the first time Depp has publicly mulled retirement.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Depp said that thoughts of retirement pop up "every day" and that he'd eventually like to "just take it down to the bare minimum and concentrate on, I guess, living life. Really living life."
A source has confirmed that the hyphen has been dropped and that it is now “all capital letters”.
The rapper’s official website says JAY Z instead of Jay-Z, with iTunes and YouTube also using the new spelling.
Billboard editor Joe Levy tweeted: “JAY Z has dropped the hyphen from his name, according to his label. I am not kidding. (Wish I was.) Copy editors: take note.”
He hasn’t given a reason for the change and there’s been no official comment yet from his label, Roc Nation.
Some Twitter users suggest the change happened several years ago with a source confirming the star has not spelt his name with a hyphen since 2010.
On the rapper’s 2011 collaborative album, Watch The Throne with Kanye West, his name is spelt with capital letters and without the hyphen. But his most recent solo album, Magna Carta Holy Grail, has the star’s name on the cover with a strategic line through the text, which makes it hard to see the exact styling of the letters.
The star’s 12th studio album was released last week and has already broken US streaming records on Spotify after clocking up 14 million plays. The album also had the biggest single day for streaming of an album in US Spotify’s history and went straight to number one in the Official UK Album Chart last week.

According to reports, Siohvaughn was ranting about child support, judges, a $90 million contract and "houses on the water."
Dwayne Wade divorced Siohvaughn in 2010 and was awarded full custody of their two sons in 2011 after a public legal battle. Siohvaughn was in court last week to get more money from her ex but it didn't work out well for her so she took to the streets ...
